Video games = global warming

Yes, it seems a big of a stretch, but after reading this article, it does make sense.

SciAm has an article explaining why your holiday gift-list can leave a great big murky carbon footprint in Mother Nature’s home. Purchasing an Xbox, Playstation, Wii or the likes wastes energy. Many gamers, more so kids, leave the system running even when they’re not using it.

About 40% of American homes has at least one game console, and each system uses about 16 billion killowatts hour per year. And this usage probably won’t drop anytime in the near future considering how much sales are up in the past few years.

Moral of the story- Don’t leave your systems on all day and night; turn it off after you’ve spent about 9 hours ducking through obsticles and shooting at aliens.
