Hotel Poverty
When I see a begger on street corners, sidewalks, or liquor door fronts, I can’t help to imagine how they got to this point. How they live their life today. Where their family is. Where they sleep. What they eat. Where do they go during the day? During the night? They’re living in a completely different world that I know nothing about. I only see their life for the brief moments as I pass by, making my way to my next destination.

Play photojournalist on Election Day
I’m sure you’re tired by now from hearing about “election this, election that…” Well, too bad, because I found a cool little article especially for Election Day.
The Polling Place Photo Project is a nationwide experiment that has been going on for a few years now. No photo background required; the interested, everday voter can participate this year by taking a few photojournalistic pictures of the chaoitc and crowded polling places.
To view last years picks, and to submit this year’s, you can go here.

Video Games Are Becoming Reality
How would you like to play a game of Resident Evil in the real world? Sounds pretty cool doesn’t it? Well Humans vs. Zombies, or HvZ, is the first step in making that a reality. You don’t get to play with real guns and there aren’t cool looking zombies lurking around, but the concept sounds like a ton of fun.
HvZ is more like a moderated version of the kids game, tag, but there is one “Original Zombie” who gets to chase after the rest of the group of “Humans.” The human players get to defend themselves from the Zombies by using balled up socks and nerf guns. If a Zombie is hit with one of these objects, they are stunned for 15 minutes and cannot move. If a zombie touches a human, they become a Zombie themselves. These zombies can run right at you though, so you better be quick. Those are the basics. If you wanna learn how to play the game head on over to the Humans Vs. Zombies website.

Combine Two Images to Make One

What do you get when you combine The Incredible Hulk with “good times?” Well that’s entirely up to you. At Scribbls, you have the opportunity to be presented with two different pictures that were drawn by other members of the site, and then you get to come up with what those two pictures would make. You can also create a drawing from scratch if you want though. The site is really a lot of fun, not only to draw but to also see what other people have created.

Social Community for the Dead

I recently posted an article about a social network for Latino babies, and I thought that was weird enough. I mean, what are you gonna come up with next? Well, Tributes.com definitely tops the list of odd social networks. The intentions of Tributes is to take the obituaries from the newspaper to the internet.
Jeff Taylor, the founder of Monster.com and Eons.com started the site when he noticed that the obituaries were the last piece of the newspaper that wasn’t really utilized on the web. His site gathers its information from the Social Security Administration’s Death Index database as well as information from funeral homes. Tributes already has dates for 84 million Americans, dating all the way back to the 1890′s
