Awesome Online Pic Viewer
PicLens is an awesome Firefox plugin that works on both the PC and Mac computers. I actually found this plugin on accident while I was searching for a link preview plugin for Firefox. The reason being, that I work in an industry that requires me to be on the internet all day, and I’m tired of being Rick Rolled when I visit certain forums.

Eat Healthy, Feel Better

If you are trying to eat healthy, you know how hard it is to keep track of your calories, fat intake, carbs, etc. This is where healthydiningfinder.com comes into play. This site will give you a list of restaurants near you, and can sort your results by price range, take-out, delivery, and catering. One thing you should know about this site though, is that everything listed here isn’t healthy, they just list restaurants who provide nutritional information and have joined the Healthy Dining Program. This means that these places do offer customers healthy alternatives and nutritional information. It really is a great tool.

Death right around the corner
German photographers Walter Schels and Beate Lakotta have recorded what most would consider taboo. In this series, Life Before Death, the lives of terminally ill patients are documented twice; once as they were alive and then as they are after death has swiftly visited.

What the Heck Does This Mean: DatPiff

If you’re into that hip-hop that you just can’t find in the stores, check out DatPiff. They call themselves the authority in free mixtapes, which I can’t vouch for, but they do have a whole lot of free mixtapes to listen to.
There seems to be quite a bit of Lil Wayne on there too. Despite the bad name, he actually makes some great music. I was reading in Blender about how he really enjoys releasing mixtapes with music that he can’t put out in mainstream stores. I was really interested in hearing them, and now I’ve come across this website, so I’m gonna have to set some time aside to check ‘em out.

Angry Journalists

What happens when you create a website for journalists to vent their anger? You get a ton of posts about how much journalists hate bloggers, gossip sites, “unprofessional writers”, etc. I think it’s interesting to see their views, but to me it kinda comes off as a whole lot of whining and complaining. Then again, I’m not a journalist, I’m just “some guy sitting in his boxers,” so I guess my point of view doesn’t matter much.
I do understand how frustrating it would be to have written a story and have it stolen by someone though, only to find out that this person made it popular. Maybe journalists need to look into social media marketing, such as Digg, StumbleUpon, and Reddit more often, and get those stories popular before someone else does. Anyway, there are a whole lot of angry journalists out there, so I recommend you read some of their posts. There are plenty of non-journalists who have some opinions of their own in their too.
