Hey Joe
Fans of Jimi Hendrix have shown disgust at a new energy drink that will be released in April. It is called "Liquid Experience" and will debut at the Experience Music Project in Seattle. The drink will be purple and will be either a berry or grape flavor. The chief executive of Beverage Concepts has stated that they will honor Jimi Hendrix's memory by donating some of the profits to an unnamed music education foundation. Screw those guys. Don't let Jimi Hendrix's memory be cheapened by commercial advertising.

Do You Really Want Windows Vista?
I was watching Attack of the Show today and they were talking about Window Vista, so I thought I would post about it. The two guys who were on there talking about it had mostly good things to say about it. I think one of them actually worked for Microsoft though. I wasn't paying much attention. Anyway they were saying things like how it installs really fast, how great it looks, how it is supposed to be more secure, blah, blah, blah.
Why not to buy Vista:
Vista will take a lot of time to install. You will have to reinstall all of your old programs, search for drivers to make all of you peripherals work, and while you are doing this, you will have to figure out where all of the options and menus are at.
It is too new and still a little bit incomplete. A lot of the companies that make software and hardware for the new operating system aren't completely ready for it. Video and sound card companies aren't ready either, which is very important. Even many security programs aren't ready, such as Trend Micro, Symantec, and Panda.
Gaming on vista will not be available right away. DirectX 10 will be a huge step up for gamers but for DirectX to reach full potential it needs the proper graphics software, which does not exist fully yet, and supporting games, which does not exist at all yet.
Vista is also very expensive. The cheapest version is only $99.00, but that is only the XP upgrade. If you get the upgrade version, you have to keep the XP cd and it doesn't support Aero UI and Media Center capabilities. Home Premium is $239.00 for the full version and $159.00 for the upgrade version. These versions are basically the equivalent to Windows XP Home and mostly meant for the nontechnical average user. The best version to get with full functionality is Windows Vista Ultimate, which costs $399.00. The upgrade version of Vista Ultimate costs $259.00.
I recommend sticking with Window XP. It is still up to date and it's what you're used to. They still plan to update it well into the future as well, with Service Pack 3 scheduled for 2008.

The Super Bowl Shuffle
I just felt like posting today, so here is the classic song from the Chicago Bears Shufflin' Crew. This classic rap song was recorded by actual players of the Chicago Bears before they appeared in Super Bowl XX. The group consisted of "Sweetness" Walter Payton, "Punky QB" Jim McMahon, "Samurai" Mike Singletary, Willie Gault, Steve Fuller, Mike Richardson, Richard Dent, Gary Fencik, Otis Wilson, and William "Refrigerator" Perry. There's your history lesson for the day

Pumpkin Cake Roll
As I get ready for my weekend, I leave you with a recipe straight from my Grandmas kitchen. It's really good. Hopefully someone I know will see this and make it for me. I love having a website. I can post whatever the hell I want. Anyway, here it is.
Ingredients
- 3 eggs, seperated
- 1 cup sugar
- 2/3 cup canned pumpkin
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
Filling
- 1 package (8 oz.) cream chesse, softened
- 2 tablespoons butter, softened
- 1 cup confectioners' sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- additional confectioners' sugar if desired
Instructions
Line a 15-in. x 10-in. x 1-in. baking pan with wax paper; grease the paper and set aside. In a large mixing bowl, beat egg yolks on high speed until thick and lemon-colored. Gradually add 1/2 cup sugar and pumpkin, beating on high until sugar is almost dissolved.
In a small mixing bowl, beat egg whites until soft peaks form. Gradually add remaining sugar, beating until stiff peaks form. Fold into egg yolk mixture. Combine the flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt; gently fold into pumpkin mixture. Spread into prepared pan.
Bake at 375 degrees for 12-15 minutes or until the cake springs back when lightly touched. Cool for 5 minutes. Turn cake onto a kitchen towel dusted with confectioners' sugar. Gently peel off wax paper. Roll up cake in towel jelly-roll style, starting with a short side. Cool completely on a wire rack.
In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, butter, confectioners' sugar and vanilla; beat until smooth. Unroll cake; spread filling evenly to within 1/2 in. of edges. Roll up again. Cover and freeze until firm. May be frozen for up to 3 months. Remove from freezer 15 minutes before cutting. Dust with confectioners' sugar if desired.
Note:
Prefer banana; when preparing the cake roll, puree two medium ripe bananas to get 2/3 cup to replace the pumpkin in the recipe.

Bus Driver Must Have Taken The Short Bus
A retarded bus driver kicked a helpless 5 year old off of his bus because he wasn't on the list. Omar Murray was placed on the bus by mistake by the school aide in Long Island City after being dismissed. He rode the bus for about a mile when he was thrown off in a Queensbridge housing project. A woman who was picking up her own children heard what had happened and took Omar to her home where she contacted his mother. His mother plans to press charges against the bus driver.

The Chicken or the Egg
Why is this question always asked? Who cares really? If you really think about it, it was probably some other kind of bird that eventually evolved into a chicken and the chicken evolved into making eggs to produce or something. Thanks a lot KBPI for making me think too hard!
