Trading Cards of the Dead

Do you remember those Garbage Pail Kids stickers and cards that you could collect when you were younger? Actually, I think they brought them back, but anyway, Topps has created some new trading cards that remind me of those Garbage Pail Kids. This would be their new line of Hollywood Zombies trading cards. There is incredible art of many famous celebrities such as Michael Jackson, The Olsen Twins, Howard Stern, and Hulk Hogan. On the back of the card, they make fun of the celebrity featured on the front. Check the site to learn more or where you can find some of these cards of your own.

Line Rider Super Mario Bros. 1-1

If you check my site often, then you know how much I like video game stuff or Mario Bros inspired videos. If you didn't, now you know why I'm posting this video. This video is a complete recreation of the first level in Super Mario Bros. 1 for the NES made entirely in the Line Rider game. This is just amazing. I can't even believe how much time it must have taken to create this.

-Found-

Ever found a note on your door that wasn’t meant for you? Or maybe you left a note for someone who never received it because there was an interference made by someone else? I (unfortunately) never had this happen, if I did, I may have uploaded it to this site.

Found collects all kinds of things found by others; photographs, student’s homework, (see, sometimes there IS a good reason why they didn’t have their assignment turned in on time.) Dear John’s, to do lists. It goes on and on.

An interesting one that was posted was this one found in New York.

Definitive Swim

If you haven't heard of the record label Definitive Jux, you are really missing out. They have some of the most talented underground rappers that you will ever find. Anyway, they have teamed up with the Cartoon Networks Adult Swim to create an album that they are giving away for free, which goes by the name of Definitive Swim. You can get it here. I think the first song by Camu Tao is more annoying than it is good though.

Peter Griffin Vs. Homer Simpson

Two of the coolest cartoon characters ever battle it out in this video. The video was made using a game engine on the PC called MUGEN. I really would like to play this. I love Homers Duff beer move and the way Peter grabs his stomach to block.

arial or helvetica

Arial and Helvetica are very similar in appearance, but they do have some characteristics to differentiate them. I’m sure my fellow MAC users would be able to tell the true type from the fraud…

A little history lesson on the two types- Helvetica was developed in 1957 by Eduard Hoffman and Max Miedinger. It was included in the bundle of fonts that came with Apple back in 1984. Microsoft then later (1990's) lifted Helvetica, calling it Arial…

On this quiz I got an 8 out 10. Not too shabby.

How To Mess Up Someones Face...Legally

Volker Blanz has created a morphable face model program. His program combines 3d shape recognition of all of the sample faces that he has placed into his program in order to model faces to have all different kinds of characteristics. The program can take a face and modify age, gender, fullness of the face, facial expressions, and more. Really cool stuff. Watch this video to see what the program is capable of.

Trashing

Trashing is a new sort of revolution of women trashing that perfect dress worn to that perfect occasion; the prom, first date, even weddings. Below, you’ll find some trashings that women did with their wedding dress. You only (should only) have one wedding…

So why keep the dress? Show your man that you’re only going to wear that dress once-. A few women here did just that.

Make Your Own Television Show

Do you want to stream your own TV show around the world.Ustream is allowing you to do this. If you have a camera and an internet connection, you are all ready to go. It is a lot like YouTube except it is live video. So I guess it's like Stickam. Stickam is more of a social network though, and this site is more about distributing your own show. If you have an idea for a cool show, you should take a look at Ustream.

True Tales From the Life of Jerry

I'm not really sure about the history of this guy Jerry, but he has created a website that supposedly tells true stories. Actually the stories seem to be fictionalized but are based on real events. Good enough for me. He has placed his face and body, extremely distorted into an equally weird world and shows you first hand how messed up his life is in these great videos. You should really check this site out, because his short stories are really funny.

Grim Glance Around the World

Photographs can have an everlasting effect on us. Whether it’d be inspiration, sorrow, anger, discontent- that single image can stick with us for a lifetime. These photographs will show a dour glance across the world. Many of these are Pulitzer Prize winning photographs, others are just unforgettable images.

Photos of the Human Condition

Joel-Peter Witkin is photographer who takes very odd and powerful photos, in which he finds beauty within the grotesque. This is how his website (NSFW) basically describes him. He photographs hermaphrodites, dwarfs, amputees, people with odd physical capabilities, and many other things of that nature. His photography is really different, but it is actually pretty cool.

game, game, game and again game

This game is extremely off the wall. It looks like it was created either by a child or a maniac. Whichever it was, this person is also probably a genius. It's hard to figure out the point of the game, but I think it's perfect for someone with Attention Deficit Disorder. I loved it.

337 Project

There is a building in Utah that will soon be demolished, but before it is, artists get to use is as their own canvas. According to the website, this is the "largest single collaboration of Salt Lake area contemporary artists ever to be gathered and directed toward a community installation, performance, and happening." If you want to visit it before it is torn down within the month, the address is 337 (hence the name) South 400 East, or you can just visit the site, like I am. There is a timer on the site, so you can keep track until D-day.

Used to Death, and then some... And it's not Comic Sans

I was born in 1983.
I’ve been used time and time again.
My appearance is very scholarly and organic.
I appear on T-shirts, commercial advertisements, even billboards!
Who am I?

I’ll admit first and foremost, that Papyrus is not all that bad of a typeface. I think it has the most recognizable look- very easy to identify. And, if advertising something organic and natural, this font certainly comes in handy…

However, this font has been- Used. To. Death. And it just seems like recently, everywhere I turn my head, it’s there. So this is me, saying to you, please, PLEASE, give Papyrus a rest for a few decades and when the world is ready to rediscover this tantalizing typeface once again, it will be more appreciated than ever.

Office Toys

Do you work in an office or a cubicle? Then you probably like to have little things liven up your personal little space a little bit with odd objects and fun little toys. There are a bunch of wacky little things that you can get here, but this Solar Motion Bicycle Rider is one of the coolest. Take a look around the site and find something cool to impress the rest of the cube farm.

Learn Something in 5 Minutes

The 5min Life Videopedia is a website that will teach you how to all types of things in 5 minutes or less. I saw some stuff on Yoga, bartending, tying a tie, and surfing. There is a little of everything. If you create an account you can also create your own 5 minute videos and they give you your own promotional "Studio" to show off your skills. This is a great idea, and I really hope it takes off.

Anti Riddle

The anti riddle is an extremely original and fun game. You have to know a little about the internet in order to beat the game though. You will need to know things like how to view source code and stuff like that. The game will teach you if you don't know how. This game has some really cool riddles, and really gets you thinking. I have to say that I enjoyed this one a lot

"Your art’s trash!"

For Mr. Justin Gignac, that statement certainly is true; his art is literally trash- genuine New York City garbage. He combs the city, back alleys and subway stations in lure of trash that’s left behind from his fellow New Yorkers, packs it (artistically, mind you) into a clear (free from leaks of liquid and stench- very important I think…) cube and sells it as art. Being environmentally friendly and artistic, who would of thought?

If you’re interested in owning a piece of New York rubbish of your very own, visit Justin’s website here.
