Many Forms of Art

This site contains tons of photos taken from the 2004 Tokyo Style in Stockholm show. I know it's a bit old, but there is so much good stuff here, that I wanted to share it. There is art for everyone here. The only bad thing is that the site seems to load a little slow. You can just visit 2dk Co. to see all of their other exhibitions too.

20 Short Animations

Labaratory 101 has collected 20 short animation that "You need to see before you die." I definitely recommend you take some time out of your day to watch 'em. One thing though, is that a lot of them you have to click on the video to go to Youtube to watch and several others are no longer available but there are still enough to check out.

Lunar - Hybrid Awaken

I'm not sure if Lunar is a band or just one person, I think it's the latter, but the music is pretty good. According to Lunar, the music is experimental. He is not a fan of mass produced music and likes to combine genres to create new ones. The songs on the site are pretty good, to me anyway, because I'm sure some won't like it, but if you want to listen to the full album, go here.

FlOw

If you own a Playstation 3, then you have probably played this game by downloading the free demo at the Playstation Store. That's actually what made me want to find this game on the internet. I played this game a long time ago when someone sent it to me in an email, but I just deleted the email and went on with my day. Then, about a week ago I downloaded FlOw on the PS3 and remembered that I played this game on the internet before. I looked it up in Google and there it was. Now you can play it too, if you can't afford the ridiculously priced Playstation 3. Play FlOw here.

Lets Get Drunk

If you are having a party and need to figure out how much beer you need, there is a new tool just for you. The Kegulator will calculate how much beer, how much ice, and how many beers you will need based on a few simple settings. All you have to enter is how many people will be drinking, how drunk these people will probably be and then hit the button.

Second Life + Myspace = Kaneva

If you are one of those social network addicts, you will probably like Kaneva. It is a cross between Myspace and Second Life. You can create a profile and modify it they way you like and add a blog, music, and videos to personalize it. Then you can create a character and use it in a 3d world similar to Second Life. One thing to note. The 3d virtual world needs to be downloaded to work and it is only compatible with Windows XP so if you own a Mac, you are out of luck.

Art and Music Come Together

Not like it is an original concept but this fun little program is pretty cool. Visual Concepts is a program that allows you to paint reactive music in real time. You have a variety of brushes to choose from to create your music and several other options to customize your improvised performance.

Advertising In Your Favorite Videos

There is a new service, new to me anyway, that changes the way you make or watch your videos. Compulsion will place links inside of your video so that people can click inside of it and it will take them to a website. An example would be if you were watching a video and liked the hat that someone was wearing. You can click on the hat and you will be taken to the website where that hat can be purchased. I didn't contact them for prices so if you are interested in their services or want to see how it works, visit their website. If you like this idea, you might also be interested in a service called BubblePly. You can add little pop up bubbles that say whatever you want them to in videos you post to sites like YouTube and MetaCafe. I don't know if you can use this with affiliate marketing, but you can look into that yourself, or if you own a website it can draw in some traffic.

Carlos Menstealia

I probably hate thieves more than anything in this world and Carlos Mencia is one of them. He has been known to steal jokes from many different comedians including Bobby Lee and George Lopez. Joe Rogan has called him out and has been banned from his local comedy club for it. Check out the video below.

Hobo with a Shotgun

In honor of the upcoming Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez film, Grindhouse, The South by Southwwest Film Festival held a contest for filmmakers to submit their best 'grindhouse trailer'. Robert Rodriguez judged a sample of the submissions himself and presented them yesterday at the film festival. The 2007 SXSW Film Festival takes place from March 9-17 throughout downtown Austin, TX. Hobo With a Shotgun is one of the entries into the contest. Check it out below and visit the creators Myspace page for more info and an interesting interview with the director, Jason Eisener. I also found this site where they have collected many of the other entries into the contest. Great stuff.

Digg Clone or Not. I like It.

There is a new "Digg like" site, but this one is all about music. Ticketmaster now owns a new site called Noisetap that brings music lovers together to share their interests, news, rumors, and anything else related to music. It operates much like Digg in that stories that get negative ratings fall to the bottom of the list and the ones with positive ratings hit the top. They will also provide articles, interviews, and album reviews so you don't have to read only user articles. If you love music like I do, you should definitely check out the Beta.

How to Tell the Future

If you want to know what is going to happen in your favorite TV show before it happens, visit, Spoiler Fix. This website offers summaries for upcoming episodes of many different television series. They don't completely ruin it for you though. Spoilerfix.com tries to give you enough of what will be happening, but won't tell the most exciting stuff. These spoilers often come from reliable sources so they should be accurate but the story can sometimes change during shooting. And, If you want to see some spoilers of movies you can visit The Movie Spoiler.

Are you Bored?

The check out the Where When Project. This is a website that provides a list of events in the U.S., and you can check out what's going on in your area. It doesn't look like all cities are as updated as much as others, but still has some good stuff. Get out and do something.

If You Are Hungry

You are about to get hungrier. Check out this blog, Blognut, that is completely dedicated only to donuts. This person seems to really love donuts and actually knows quite a bit about them. I didn't know there was so much to learn about donuts but according to their post on February 25th, Blognut has been around for a year, so I guess there is. And this isn't just history, it's current donut events.

Animation Video Site

There is a new website called ToonBreak where animators can generate income through their creations with video ads, text ads, merchandising, and donations. There are some pretty good videos on here, so why not take a look and help out the animators in the process.

More Body Paint

I posted about body painting a couple of days ago but this time it's not so safe for work. I think this stuff is really cool. Some of these are unbelievable. Model Mayhem has tons of great photography and artists and you can check out some of the body painting here. If you are interested in some more check out CanvasAlive.com.
